Think of a Lens as a custom view of a specific set of data that you would like to share with a specific group of people (usually for a specific reason).

When a Lens is created, it generates a unique URL as well as a QR code that can be scanned which then provides the user with access to the custom lens you've chosen to share with them.

For example, let's say you have two objectives with Geora:

  1. To provide your on-farm and sustainability metrics to your certifier

  2. To share the farm to plate journey of your beef/cattle with your consumers

In this scenario you likely want your certifier to have access to all of the different stages of the supply chain journey as well as any relevant documentation but you only want your consumers to see the physical journey of your produce plus your social media account (removing any documentation & images of animal production).

To do this you would create two custom lenses - a comprehensive one for your assessor and a stripped back one for your consumers!
